"We had a corrupted record with the location mode DMSCALC. Certain Calc Key values resulted in a schema abort.
Setting up a search mask on the known offending key values, we used LOUISII to extract the Database Keys of the corrupted records as well as their data. When analyzing the extracted data it became apparent the corruption was due to an inadvertent schema change whereby one of the key fields had been shortened by one byte. We now had a pattern which enabled us to go in with LOUISII and identify ALL bad records in the area.
We are also using LOUISII to replace several database sweep programs written in COBOL. We have found the replacement jobs are processing much faster and are definitely helping us from a performance standpoint.
Finally, as we look to doing any type of database extracts for any number of reasons, we almost always use LOUISII as our first course of action. I am very glad we purchased LOUISII and will highly recommend LOUISII to anyone using DMS and having a need to extract data for other processing needs."

"Historically we used QLP and COBOL. Using LOUISII, our total wall clock time improved by almost a factor of five.
A query against seven million Medicare records in a DMS database took 3 hours and 13 minutes to run using QLP but only 40 minutes to run using LOUISII.
Since a QLP query job could not be run until the evening, a user who asked for a query today would not see the results until tomorrow. But the efficiency of LOUISII allows us to run large queries during the day. Users are excited to get the desired results much sooner.
Since LOUISII consumes fewer resources, user departments are charged less for equivalent work."
